On March 26, 2025, the Brookline Community Foundation hosted its second annual Family Philanthropy Event at the Brookline Teen Center, bringing together fund holders, donors and community members for a morning of connection, reflection, and shared purpose.
The event featured personal stories from the founders of two BCF funds: the David Zadoc Whipple Fund and the Edna Mann Memorial Scholarship Fund for Social Justice and Equity. Both speakers reflected on the inspiration behind their funds, how they’ve involved their families in giving, and the meaningful impact their philanthropy is having in Brookline.
Their stories sparked thoughtful conversations about values, legacy, and the role community foundations can play in helping individuals and families give in a personal and lasting way.
We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and shared their experiences. If you’re thinking about how to align your giving with your legacy and philanthropic priorities, email us at contact@brooklinecommunity.org to learn more about opening a fund at BCF.
