We’re proud to announce our 2021 Community Grant Program awardees! Combined, the Brookline Community Foundation will give over $647,000—including the first ever multi-year grants in BCF’s history— to the following organizations.

  • 2Life Communities to support Creative Approaches to Healthier Aging in Brookline—a no-cost education, arts, and mental health community programming for low-income older adults living at the Brown House campus in Coolidge Corner.
  • Boston Worker’s Circle Center for Jewish Culture and Social Justice to support strengthening organizational infrastructure and expand equity and inclusion work.
  • Brookline Arts Center to support Gallery Program expansion with a focus on providing greater accessibility and inclusion.
  • Brookline Housing Authority to support the expansion of a comprehensive supportive service model for public housing residents of all ages, abilities, languages, and backgrounds. Multi-year grant awardee
  • to support critical building repairs and improvements to building common areas.
  • Brookline Interactive Group (BIG) to provide general operating support towards BIG’s efforts to ensure all Brookline residents have access to mediamaking technology, amplify their voices and tell their stories, develop media literacy skills, and sustain a vibrant and transparent democracy.
  • Brookline Teen Center to support two new signature programs: the Be Ready program for teens, and the BTC Afterschool Program for middle schoolers.
  • Carroll Center for the Blind to provide orientation and mobility services to blind and visually impaired individuals who live, learn, and work in Brookline.
  • Coolidge Corner Theatre Foundation, Inc. to help transform the Coolidge into a leading center for film and media in the Brookline and Greater Boston communities.
  • Emerald Necklace Conservancy to champion maintenance and advocacy for access to and within the parks and to continue connecting neighbors and visitors to this healthful and multifaceted resource.
  • FriendshipWorks to continue providing Friendly Visiting, Friendly Helping, and Medical Escort programs to older adults in Brookline.
  • Gateway Arts/Vinfen to support restoring and rebuilding the art center after COVID.
  • Jewish Family and Children’s Services to provide nutritious groceries to individuals and families in Brookline who are experiencing food insecurity.
  • Kalliope Reed Quintet to perform a free community concert in Brookline with Brookline-based pianist Cholong Park.
  • MAB Community Services, Inc. to support healthy aging programming for Brookline’s older adults who live with blindness or low vision.
  • Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange to support services that find forever homes for foster youth that are facing the prospect of aging out of the foster care system without the support and love of a permanent family.
  • Parks and Open Space to design and build a parklet in collaboration with Brookline Teens.
  • Springwell, Inc. to help deliver regular, nutritious meals to low-income older adults in Brookline through the home-delivered meals program, as well as grab and go/community dining program run in collaboration with the Brookline Senior Center.
  • Steps to Success, Inc. to expand its current 4th-6th grade afterschool programming to include K-3rd grade. Multi-year grant awardee
  • Studios Without Walls to support “In These Woods Together,” a free public outdoor sculpture exhibition at The Riverway Park.
  • Women Thriving, Inc. to support efforts to co-create opportunities for women who face economic, social, racial, and other inequities to thrive through learning, leadership development, and community
  • Yachad to support the integration of volunteers from Brookline into arts and recreation programs.
