Professional Advisors Committee

The Professional Advisors Committee is a committee of Brookline-area professionals appointed by the Board of Trustees to act as BCF ambassadors and advisers for, philanthropic, fiduciary and legal matters. Learn more about members of the committee below.

Emily Beekman is an estate planning and trust administration attorney who helps her clients, including individuals, couples and families, build and administer plans that address both personal and business objectives and goals.  Emily assists clients with the preparation of simple and complex estate planning documents and she also concentrates her practice in the area of estate and trust administration, advising personal representatives, trustees, and other fiduciaries on the legal aspects of administering complex estates and trusts. This representation also includes the preparation and filing of gift and estate tax returns on the state and federal levels.  Emily is a graduate of Colby College and she received her Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University College of Law.  Prior to joining Gilmore, Rees & Carlson, Emily was an associate at Mirick, O’Connell, DeMallie & Lougee, LLP, in their Worcester & Boston offices.  Emily lives in Brookline with her husband and in her free time, Emily plays the violin, cycles, and travels.

Ann Hetherwick (“Hether”) Cahill is an Associate in the Private Client Group at
Burns & Levinson LLP, where she focuses on all aspects of estate and trust litigation, guardianships and conservatorships, elder financial exploitation, and
family law.  Before entering private practice, she clerked for the Honorable
Joseph A. Trainor of the Massachusetts Appeals Court.  Hether received her
J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and her B.A. from Skidmore College. She is the Book Review Editor of the Massachusetts Law Review and a participant in the 2016-2017 Boston Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Leadership Program.  Hether lives in Brookline with her husband and two children.

Liza M. Connelly is a vice president and trust officer at Boston Private Bank & Trust Company. Prior to joining Boston Private Bank & Trust Company she worked as a wealth strategist in the Boston office of Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management, an associate in the Trusts & Estates Department of Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster PC, an associate in Personal Client Service at Deutsch Williams Brooks DeRensis & Holland PC in Boston and in offshore relationship management and marketing at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. She has a niche area of pet trust planning and worked extensively on the Massachusetts pet trust statute. Liza is an active member and has served on various committees for the Boston Estate Planning Council and is a member of the board of overseers at the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She is also on the executive committee of the Trusts & Estates Consortium in Boston and on the alumni council for Dedham Country Day School. Liza received her Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University, her LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University. She is a member of the State Bar of Massachusetts. Liza enjoys traveling to Africa with her husband, running and tennis.

Robert Donnelly (Vice Chair) serves as a personal risk manager for high net worth individuals and families. In this capacity he delivers tailored risk management solutions that protect the wealth and physical assets of his clients, while freeing them of the administrative burdens associated with policy issuance and billing. Robert joined Marsh USA Inc. as Office Head, Private Client Services in 2008 bringing with him more that twenty-four years of insurance industry experience. The Private Client Services division of Marsh has national capabilities and expertise with twenty-seven locations and 350 licensed professionals in all fifty states. Robert is a graduate of Villanova University, earned his MBA at New York University and successfully completed the Executive Program in Strategic Sales Management at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He resides in Brookline with his wife and daughters, where he often walks with his family to Fenway Park to catch a game. Robert is the vice chair of the professional advisors committee.

Charles Evangelakos is a wealth manager who specializes in working with the unique complexities of highly affluent families, business owners and corporate executives. Charles has a five step planning process that allows him to understand his clients’ needs and their visions, values and goals. Through a comprehensive analysis of the information that his clients provide, he is able to deliver sound advice customized to his clients’ needs. Bringing 20 years of experience and a team of advanced case design experts and professionals, the advice delivered is of top caliber. Charles is committed to putting his clients best interest first. He is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council and many other local organizations. He serves as a board member of Mercantile Bank of Boston and on the Boston Advisory Committee for Commerce Bank of Worcester, Massachusetts.

Martin Hall is a partner of Ropes & Gray LLP. He is the current chair of the firm’s Private Client Group. He holds law degrees from Cambridge University in England (M.A., First Class Honours, 1981) and Boston University School of Law (J.D., summa cum laude, 1986). He was a visiting fellow at the University of Chicago Law School in 1982-83. Martin's practice is concentrated in the areas of wealth management, estate planning, trust and estate administration, and charitable giving. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Tax Section) and was chair of the Tax Section’s Estate and Gift Taxes Committee from 2008 until 2010. He is also a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and is the current chair of ACTEC’s Charitable Planning and Exempt Organizations Committee and vice president of the ACTEC Foundation. Martin was a founding member of the Professional Advisors Committee to The Boston Foundation. Martin is a co-author of The Harvard Manual on the Tax Aspects of Charitable Giving (9th ed. 2011) and of Practical Guide to Estate Planning (CCH 2012), and a contributing author to several Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) publications. He is a frequent speaker at estate planning and tax programs.

Craig Harsfield co- founded Paradigm Private Wealth in 2013. He works with individuals, families, and small businesses advising on investment, retirement, and risk mitigation strategies. Additionally he specializes in working with seniors and their families, providing long term care solutions. Craig has a proven track record throughout his 14 years in the financial services industry. He continues to advise hundreds of clients, in making smart decisions about their investments so they can seek to maximize their financial growth, and work towards creating more certainty for their future. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business from Babson College and holds his Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and Certified Long Term Care designations. Craig lives in Brookline with his wife Leah and their two young children. He serves on several non-profitboards and is President of the Brockton Day Nursery and Immediate Past President of the GoddardHealth Foundation. Saying Craig is an avid Boston sports fan would be an understatement. In his freetime, he enjoys reading, golfing, traveling and spending summer weekends on Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard.

Marcos Lopez is a financial specialist who teaches people how to save money more efficiently, by showing them how to make financial decisions in the right order, to achieve what they want for their families now and in the future. Marcos wants to have a positive impact in his community and act as a resource for people, making their lives easier and their financial situations more stable. When Marcos decided to build his own practice, he wanted to find a group of specialists that he could work with who shared his philosophy: enjoying life and help others enjoy their lives. The Bulfinch group was the perfect fit for him; The Bulfinch Group was founded in 1994 on two guiding principles -- integrity and character. These principles define the firm’s core values which include a philosophy of caring, building collaborative relationships, and being a concerned corporate citizen within the communities they serve. Marcos recently moved from Spain, and although he misses watching futbol, he is very happily becoming a fan of Boston teams- especially the Celtics.

Dennis Mendoza is currently the president of Mendoza Wealth Management, a financial advisory firm located in Brookline. His previous experience includes positions at a variety of financial institutions, including the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He has an MBA from the University of Virginia and a BS from the University of Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Brookline with his wife and three children. 

Daniel "Buks" Moolman (Chair) is a senior financial auditing executive qualified certified public accountant and qualified chartered accountant with more than 20 years of experience with both domestic and international firms of accountants and auditors covering a variety of industries. He has extensive merger and acquisition experience from working with various companies on exit strategies. He also has significant leadership experience in finance-related positions as: chairman of audit committees, board of directors and president of organizations. He has received various leadership awards and medals during three years of mandatory military services in South Africa as a full lieutenant in the SA army. He is a past recipient of CPA Technology Advisor’s "40 Under 40" Award.

Rebecca Mutch is a partner with the law firm of Posternak Blankstein & Lund, LLP in Boston. Rebecca specializes in estate planning, probate, trust and estate administration and business law. Rebecca's experience includes the evaluation and preparation of sophisticated estate plans and business succession plans. She is also well-versed in the preparation of estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns, and regularly advises clients on estate planning, lifetime gifts, asset preservation strategies and charitable giving techniques through the use of trusts.

Sandra Saner is a Managing Director at U. S. Trust. She assists high net worth individuals and their families preserve and enhance their wealth and values through a broad array of solutions such as risk assessment, investment management solutions, strategic financial planning, gifting and fiduciary services, credit and philanthropic services. Sandra is an innovative idea generator and problem solver for clients with multi-faceted needs. She has been with U. S. Trust for 17 years. Previously, she was with Citibank's Private Bank. She worked in Corporate Finance for 12 years for Prudential Capital Corporation, originating, closing and managing long-term private placements for companies in New England. She holds an MBA in Applied Economics from the William Simmon School at the University of Rochester and a B. A. in Psychology from the University of Rochester. She is a Certified Financial Planner, Certified Trust and Estate Planner, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and an Accredited Estate Planner. Sandra lives in Brookline with her husband Paul and dog Phoenix. They have two daughters.

Oliver C. Scholle is a financial planner with Harvest Wealth Management in Needham MA where he specializes in helping families facing the twin challenges of paying for their children’s college education while saving for their own retirement.  His previous experience includes positions with Bank of Boston Global Asset Management, the Citibank Private Bank and the American International Group (AIG). He received his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Harvard College. Oliver lives in Brookline with his wife Beth and daughter and has two sons serving in the U.S Navy.

Amiel Weinstock holds the General Counsel roles at Thomas Brady & Associates, joining the firm in September 2013. In his current position, he works strategically with the firm's clients to provide complementary insight on all aspects of estate planning. He most recently worked as Counsel in the Boston office of Nixon Peabody LLP, where he developed estate plans for high net worth individuals, advised clients on the navigation of complex tax issues, and worked with clients on the probate and administration of trusts and estates. Prior to Nixon Peabody, he was a Senior Associate at K & L Gates LLP and an Associate at Lourie & Cutler, P.C. Amiel is an active member of many industry associations, including the Boston Bar Association, the Boston Estate Planning Council and the Trust and Estates Consortium. Amiel has been recognized as a Massachusetts Rising Star for five consecutive years (2009 through 2013). He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and holds a JD and an LL.M degree in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. Amiel lives in Brookline.
